Research in Motion (RIM) recently released a phone better than all other Blackberry phones. In August they released the Blackberry Torch for AT&T network. This phone has all of the normal strong points for the line but also added several great new features.

Blackberry has always been known for their virtually flawless email integration and their best in the business keyboards. Those two things have kept them floating at the top of the smartphone market share for years. With the addition of the iPhone and numerous Android devices that market share has taken quite a beating over the past year. RIM believes that the Blackberry Torch may help them keep many consumers that they have at this point and possibly win some others over.

Without a doubt Blackberry needed to upgrade their web browser. The past internet experience on their phone lines have been bad with all of today's technology showing up on other phones. With the acquisition of Torch Mobile that has all changed. The Blackberry Torch has a new WebKit browser installed in it that has updated the internet browsing to be up to par with virtually any phone on the market. Users can now surf the web faster, add webpage shortcuts to their home screen, use pinch zoom, text auto zoom, or use tabbed browsing.

Blackberry Operating System 6 was released with the Blackberry Torch. This operating system drastically improved the user interface on the phone and allows for many modern updates. Some of the updates include new Social Feed applications, Universal Search, improved touchscreen performance, and updated graphics for a modern look.

The list of great hardware on the phone has to start with the sliding keyboard. Blackberry is known for having keyboards that are responsive and spaced well for the user. This keyboard is no different as it is very user friendly and is exactly what a consumer would expect from this phone line.

The updated 5 megapixel camera on the Blackberry Torch is the first they have put on one of their phones. This camera takes very good pictures overall and has several upgraded features. Some of the main features to be updated include face detection, geotagging, and continuous autofocus.

There are many upgrades over previous Blackberry Phones on the Blackberry Torch. The addition of a top notch web browser is the biggest upgrade and the one that was most anticipated. Other upgrades include the new operating system, responsive sliding keyboard, and a very nice camera.
