This month Barcelona hosts the Mobile World Congress, arguably the pinnacle for mobile phone tech enthusiasts. The HTC Incredible S handset was released officially at the event, cementing details a few gadget sites sneaked out in the last few weeks.
The last year has seen HTC heavily challenge the iPhone and all at Apple for the cloak of principal smartphone manufacturer. The iPhone 4 competed directly with the HTC Desire model in latter 2010, with t3.com unable to reach a conclusion on which was the better phone. The HTC Desire itself arguably won and it was the multi-award winning phone of 2010.
It would be reasonable to state that HTC are increasingly not so 'quietly brilliant' as their motto proposes more just 'brilliant'. In reality I find myself scripting about new HTC phones with amplified consistency, possibly a change to their slogan should be made: 'fantastically loud'?
The release of three new smartphones within the S series will be made this year. This includes: the refurbished, stronger and slimmer HTC Desire S, with improved features of HD camera/ video recorder and faster, evolved browsing than that of its award winning predecessor the Desire.
The HTC Incredible S has an emphasis on entertaining, with its cinematic experience combining the use of its 4" screen and virtual surround sound. This handset also profits from the HD video recorder but is boosted by an 8MP camera.
Focusing more on web browsing and social networking is the HTC Wildfire S, for when being offline isn't feasible. This smartphone is perhaps more focused on the 'phone' rather than the 'smart' in comparison with the other S models.
With a variety of handsets, HTC seem to be doing exactly what Apple and the iPhone are not, appealing to both lower end and the higher end of the markets. All the new phones operate using Google's Android operating system, and a quick glance on tech websites show that the latest news features the name HTC repeatedly; suggesting the company will remain brilliant but not quiet for much longer.
