Using Your Commonsense When It Comes To Mobile Phone Safety

It is not very complicated to be safe with a mobile phone, nor does it require a lot of effort; the only thing you really need to use is your commonsense. However for most of us, the fact that we don't think carefully is what actually causes the trouble for us.

If you want to know how to use your commonsense to ensure you are using your mobile phone safely then the tips below should help.

- Although most of us know of the dangers associated with using a mobile phone while driving, many people do not realise that many experts have claimed that doing this is worse than driving while drunk. There is now no excuse for ever driving while chatting into a mobile phone at our ear.

We can safely talk with people on the phone though, by having a hands free device. If you need to take or make a call when driving and you do not have a hands free kit then you should pull over to the side of the road to do this.

- Although radiation is emitted from mobile phones, we won't know how dangerous this is, if at all, for some decades. In the meantime the commonsense approach would be to assume that these devices can cause harm, but not to get too carried away by the whole thing. It is better not to spend too long on your phone every day and then you should be OK. If you think you are spending too much time on your mobile then you should consider a hands free kit.

- It is not always safe to use your mobile phone when you are out and about. You may want to keep your phone hidden if you are walking about at night in a dodgy area. This means that criminals won't see the phone and be tempted to steal it from you, nor will muggers see you as an easy target because you are distracted by being on the phone.
