The Benefits Of Owning A Smart Phone

The new generation of mobile communication offers so much more even though most people have adopted and adapted to cellular or mobile phones. Mobile phones do have significant value for people on the move even though some people would feel that the mobile phones are intrusive and all-consuming. Smart phones take that value a few steps further.

Allowing you to keep in touch while you are mobile is your mobile phone. Particularly handy in an emergency, they allow you to contact others from any location. Leaving a broken down car at the side of the road and walking for miles just to find a pay phone is a now a thing of the past. If you remembered you needed to tell your family something back home and you're already out driving, then you can text message them or call them. When it comes to business, your colleagues, customers, and suppliers can reach you any time, any where because of mobile phones.

Taking instant access to a new level are smart phones and they allow the user to send and receive emails on their phone, access the Internet, etc. This gives users more freedom, minimizing the need to return to the office to get messages or access information. This will also mean that your life is constantly interrupted and for others, they would feel that smart phones are leading to a breakdown in face-to-face, personal communication.

If you are required to be out of the office for long periods of the day because of your work, then a smart phone can be a blessing. While on the go, you can respond to requests and answer queries and you will be allowed to keep track of messages. For people who telecommunicate or work offsite, smart phones are as valuable as laptops.

A mobile phone is an important tool for a parent in order to keep track of children and make all the arrangements necessary when you have a family. In our world of online interaction, smart phones allow you to stay connected with friends on social networks, book movie tickets, make travel arrangements - all from your phone.

There is a disadvantage of having a smart phone and that's becoming almost all-consuming, which means you are practically given no free time. It can be very tempting to Tweet about a restaurant while you are out for dinner or even check your emails while you are having coffee with a friend. For teenagers, they find smart phones to be almost addictive and would text and BBM'ing each other constantly and would often ignore the people they are sitting face-to-face with.

As a business tool, it is definitely useful to have a smart phone. But if we use them for personal use, we need to remember the etiquette that we have learned when cellular phones first hit the market. When there are other people with you, then you should switch if off or at least ignore it. It's still considered important to talk to real people.
