Mobile phones do have significant value for people on the move even though some people would feel that the mobile phones are intrusive and all-consuming. Smart phones take that value a few steps further.
Allowing you to keep in touch while you are mobile is your mobile phone. Particularly handy in an emergency, they allow you to contact others from any location. Leaving a broken down car at the side of the road and walking for miles just to find a pay phone is a now a thing of the past. If you remembered you needed to tell your family something back home and you're already out driving, then you can text message them or call them.
