iphones are one of the most popular mobile phones of the latest generation of 'smartphones' and are now a must have accessory for today's youth. This doesn't necessarily mean they are better than the other smartphones available and this articles discusses the benefits of it's nearest rival, the Blackberry.
1. Security of Data - The Blackberry as established itself as a market leader when it comes to security and the iphone seriously struggles to compete. The iphone systems have been hacked on numerous occasions and this has caused iphone users to lose a lot of data, much to their frustration. It's an area that Apple must work hard to improve.
The Blackberry on the other hand has never had any problems with it's security. It's also used by some leader political figures including Gordon Brown and and Nicolas Sarkozy.
2. Typing - The Blackberry benefits from a full QWERTY keyboard which makes it very easy to type at a decent rate. The iphone has a touch screen keyboard which for people with large fingers or for those who are quite clumsy makes typing very hard.
3. Number of Network Providers - The Blackberry is available on every network which has led to lower prices for every increasing call and text packages. Apple only agreed to let the iphone be sold by a couple of network operators who then have no reason to reduce their prices.
4. Picture Messages - Not a lot of people know this but iphones cannot actually send picture messages. Apple obviously deemed it unnecessary which seems like a big oversight to me. It is possible to send pictures via email but it's impossible to send to someone who doesn't have a smartphone.
5. Receiving emails - Sending and receiving emails on the go is one of the primary reasons that smartphones have become so popular. Out of all the smartphones available, Blackberry have perfected the integration between mobile phone and email account. Apple have not not done such a good job with the iphone and it's often quite a pain to synchronise your mobile and email accounts.
